Laudable

According to Cambridge dictionary:

laudable = deserving praise, even if there is little or no success

laudable effort, laudable aim, laudable pursuit

I've read this word in my colleague's report which says "The authors' attempt to reconstruct the hidden transcription factor activity profile from observable times series microarray data is laudable."
